The standalone application runs independently, so downloading the Max program is NOT required.
Download Max/MSP patch You’ll need to download the free Max program from cycling74.com in order to run the patch.

Foot Pedals:

Cues can be advanced by the soloist using a foot pedal or by pressing the spacebar on the keyboard. A Bluetooth foot pedal such as an AirTurn is recommended.

How to set up the Interface:

  1. Connect the audio interface to the computer
  2. Set up the 2 condenser microphones in a position that capture the piano’s sound
  3. Connect the microphones to channels and 2 of the interface. Make sure the gain is set to a low enough level that the piano signal does not distort
  4. Connect the audio interface to th PA or stereo speakers

How to Set Up the Computer and Patch:

  1. Turn on the computer and make sure all applications are closed.
  2. If using the Mac standalone version, open “KAO_Where Paths Converge-electronics.app”
  3. Confirm that the audio interface is connected properly. On the screen, click Audio Status to check the audio settings.
  4. Under Input Device, select your audio interface from the dropdown menu.
  5. Under Output Device, select your audio interface from the dropdown menu.
  6. Turn Sound On
  7. Connect the MIDI Foot Pedal — this will be used to cue live processing.
  8. Check the volume level and adjust the master level if needed.
  9. Keep the master level fixed before the performance.
